DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston – Downtown Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston – Downtown, you’re greeted with that signature warm chocolate chip cookie — honestly, it never gets old. The lobby has a modern, polished feel without being stuffy, and you can immediately sense you’re in the heart of the action. This three-star property sits right on Washington Street, and I mean right in the thick of everything that makes downtown Boston exciting. The staff actually seems genuinely happy to see you, which isn’t always a given in busy city hotels.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston – Downtown — the location is pretty much unbeatable for exploring the city. You’re within walking distance of Boston Common, the Theater District, and Chinatown, plus the Orange Line T station is just a few blocks away. I’ve noticed couples particularly love staying here (they rate the location 9.2 out of 10), and I get why — you can easily stroll to North End for dinner or catch a show without dealing with complicated transit routes. The Freedom Trail practically runs past your doorstep, which is perfect if you’re doing the tourist thing.
The Room Experience
The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid three-star Hilton property — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The beds are actually really good (those Sweet Dreams beds live up to the hype), and the bathrooms are modern with decent water pressure. You’ll find all the basics you need: a work desk, decent WiFi, and windows that actually open if you want some fresh air. The rooms facing Washington Street can get a bit noisy with city sounds, but honestly, that’s just part of the downtown Boston experience.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
The breakfast situation here is surprisingly accommodating — they’ve got vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options alongside standard American fare. You can even grab breakfast to go if you’re rushing to catch a morning tour or meeting. What really sets this place apart is having private parking available, which anyone who’s tried to park in downtown Boston will tell you is worth its weight in gold. Sure, it’s an extra cost, but the peace of mind is totally worth it when you’re navigating these narrow, historic streets.
Why Guests Love It
With an 8.9 location score and 7.9 overall rating, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston – Downtown delivers exactly what most travelers want — a reliable, comfortable base in an incredible location. You’re not paying for unnecessary frills, but you’re getting quality service and that unbeatable downtown access. I mean, when you can walk to Faneuil Hall for lunch and be back at your room in ten minutes, that’s the kind of convenience that makes a city trip actually relaxing. It’s the sort of place where you spend your time exploring Boston, not worrying about your hotel.

From the moment we were greeted at the lower lobby and guided to the lift by the friendly doorman, we felt warmly welcomed at DoubleTree by Hilton, Boston Downtown. Helena at reception made our check-in experience delightful with her warm hospitality. We especially appreciated the delicious cookies and complimentary internet, thanks to our Hilton Honors membership. A great start to our stay!

This hotel is in a good location next to the theater district and not too far from anything that you need. I love that there's a train stop close by and if you decide to uber around it's reasonably priced.
