1-31 Excellent Location, Walk Everywhere Sleeps 3 Overview

First Impressions

Look, I’ll be honest — 1-31 excellent Location, Walk Everywhere Sleeps 3 isn’t going to win any design awards, but sometimes you just need a solid place to crash in the heart of Boston. This three-star spot on Cortes Street is exactly what it says on the tin: functional, well-positioned, and perfect for couples who want to explore the city on foot. The building itself is pretty typical for this part of town — nothing fancy, but clean and well-maintained.

Location Magic

Here’s where this place really shines, and I mean really shines. You’re literally in the thick of everything that makes Boston special. I’m talking about being able to walk to the Public Garden in about five minutes, hitting Newbury Street for shopping without breaking a sweat, and actually being close enough to the Common that you can hear the street musicians on weekend mornings. The Back Bay location means you’re surrounded by those gorgeous Victorian brownstones, and honestly, just wandering around the neighborhood feels like you’re getting a free architecture tour.

The Space Itself

The room setup works well for what it is — it’s designed to sleep three people comfortably, though I’d say it’s really optimized for couples with maybe some extra space for a friend or kid. You know what I appreciated? The kitchen area actually has everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the nearby Whole Foods and make breakfast instead of spending $20 on hotel coffee every morning. The space feels more like a small apartment than a traditional hotel room, which gives you that “living in the city” vibe rather than just visiting it.

Getting Around

This is where staying here becomes a total game-changer. The Arlington T station is basically around the corner, so you can hop on the Green Line and be at Fenway or head over to Cambridge without any hassle. But honestly, you probably won’t need the T much because everything worth seeing is walkable. I spent most of my time just strolling — hit the Freedom Trail, wandered through Beacon Hill’s cobblestone streets, grabbed lunch in the North End. There’s something really satisfying about being able to walk back to your place after a long day instead of figuring out rideshares or public transit.

Why Guests Love It

The couples who stay here get it — this isn’t about fancy amenities or room service. It’s about having a comfortable base camp in one of Boston’s most walkable neighborhoods. You’re paying for location, location, location, and in a city where hotel prices can be absolutely brutal, this place delivers serious value. Sure, it’s not going to blow you away with fancy touches, but when you can walk to the Boston Tea Party Ships, stroll along the Charles River, and grab dinner in Little Italy all in the same afternoon, you realize that sometimes the best amenity is just being exactly where you want to be.

  • Soomin from South Korea (6/10)

It’s very close to Back Bay station, so if you’re traveling via train, it’s very convenient. The bed was comfortable. Check-in was easy but getting a hold of them re: early luggage drop-off prior to check-in was rather difficult. It has a mini-kitchen (although we didn’t use it). The fridge functions well. There is a small AC unit. (Not super powerful but better than nothing.

The location was perfect. Loved the quaintness of the property. We spent most of our time taking in the sights of Boston but were very comfortable when we were in our room.
