The Inn at Longwood Medical Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to The Inn at Longwood Medical on Longwood Avenue, you immediately get the sense this is a place that knows its purpose. It’s not trying to be flashy or pretentious — this three-star hotel sits right in the heart of Boston’s medical district, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work so well. The building has that classic New England charm without being stuffy, and you can tell from the moment you step inside that they’ve thought about what travelers actually need.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about staying in Fenway Kenmore — you’re not just close to the medical facilities (which is obviously huge if that’s why you’re here), but you’re also perfectly positioned for everything else Boston has to offer. I mean, Fenway Park is literally a short walk away, and the Green Line stops are right there when you want to head into downtown or Cambridge. What really surprised me was how quiet it stays despite being on such a busy avenue — the rooms face away from the main traffic, which is smart planning.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what I hoped for — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out. You know what I appreciated most? The work desk actually had good lighting and enough space to spread out papers (crucial if you’re dealing with medical appointments or business). The bed was firm but not hard, and they’ve got blackout curtains that actually work — something you don’t always find in older Boston buildings. The bathroom was compact but efficient, with decent water pressure and those little touches that show they care about the details.
Practical Perks
Let’s talk about parking for a second — if you’ve ever tried to park in this part of Boston, you know it’s usually a nightmare. Having on-site parking available is honestly a game-changer, even if you have to pay for it. It’s one less thing to stress about when you’re already dealing with whatever brought you to the medical district. The staff at the front desk actually knows the neighborhood well too — they gave me solid recommendations for nearby places to grab coffee and pointed me toward the best pharmacy when I needed one.
Why Guests Love It
What strikes me most about this place is how it gets the balance right between being professional and being welcoming. You’ll see families here dealing with medical situations, business travelers, and even some tourists who’ve figured out what a great location this is for exploring Boston. The 7.9 rating makes sense — it’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in the city, but it delivers on what matters most. The fact that couples rate the location so highly tells you something important — this isn’t just a place people tolerate because they have to be in the area, it’s somewhere they actually enjoy staying.
Best hotels in Boston blend library lounges, craft cocktail dens, and New England tasting menus.

Went for a concert at Fenway, as a bonus went to the celtics parade- great location for both. Super convenient that we could check out but leave the car in the parking garage until after the concert.

I booked 2 nights here as my husband was an emergency transfer to Beth Israel. I booked a junior suite as that was all available The room was nice, comfortable Bed, nice towels, not much in the way of dishes and cutlery even for 1 person. I had to extend my stay for 2 nights but had to move to a room with 2 queens. Bed was too soft for me. Both rooms had in room air conditioning which was noisy when switching on.
Great location for hospital visiting. Parking at $25/night was a bonus
Staff were great
