Temple Place Suites 2+3 Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Temple Place Suites 2+3 feels like discovering a well-kept secret in Boston’s Theatre District. This five-star property occupies the second and third floors of a historic building on Temple Place, and honestly, you might walk right past it if you’re not paying attention — which is actually part of its charm. The entrance has this understated elegance that immediately sets it apart from the flashier hotel chains nearby. I mean, when you’re staying in the real heart of Boston, you want something that feels authentic to the city’s character, and this place delivers on that front.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what’s impressive about the location? It scored a 9.6 for good reason — you’re literally steps from everything that matters in downtown Boston. The Common is a two-minute walk, and you can easily stroll to Newbury Street for shopping or head over to the Financial District for business meetings. What I really appreciate is how couples seem to get it — they rated the location 9.4 for romantic getaways, and I can see why. There’s something special about being able to walk to a show at the nearby theaters, then slip back to your suite without dealing with the usual downtown hotel chaos.

The Suites

The luxury suites here are thoughtfully designed with a residential feel that’s rare in Boston hotels. Each unit has separate living and sleeping areas, which makes a huge difference when you’re staying for more than just a night or two. The kitchenettes are actually functional — not just for show — and the furnishings strike that perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. What struck me most was the attention to detail in the finishes; everything feels carefully curated rather than mass-produced. The windows offer nice city views, and the soundproofing is surprisingly good considering you’re right in the middle of everything.

Service & Amenities

The service here operates more like a boutique residence than a traditional hotel, which honestly works better for the intimate scale of the property. The staff knows guests by name pretty quickly, and they’re genuinely helpful with restaurant recommendations and theater bookings. Since it’s a smaller operation, you won’t find a massive fitness center or spa, but the luxury touches are in the details — quality linens, premium toiletries, and that kind of personalized attention that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere special rather than just another room number.

Why Guests Love It

Temple Place Suites 2+3 works because it gives you the luxury and location without the corporate hotel experience that can feel impersonal in Boston. The combination of that incredible location score and the suite-style accommodations means you get the best of both worlds — you’re in the thick of things but with enough space to actually relax. For couples especially, it hits that sweet spot of romantic without being overly themed, and sophisticated without being stuffy. It’s the kind of place where you can imagine extending your stay just because it feels more like a pied-à-terre than a hotel room.

The concierge service in Boston arranges private Freedom Trail historians, harbor yacht evenings, and chef-led clam chowder classes.

The location was excellent — it was right in the middle of everything. The price is good, given the location. We were mostly out during our stay, and only needed a place where we could sleep and take showers. It was a shared bathroom — that was stated when we booked — but it was always clean and we never had to wait for other guests.

  • Adrianna from United States (7/10)

Wish we could've had more towels for shower and washing in general. We could've used paper towels in the bathroom. Otherwise, the beds were super comfy and the AC unit worked really great keeping the room cool at night. I liked having door codes for entrance, made me feel a bit more safe!

Great location, easy automatic check in (no need to meet the staff). Our room was enormous.

  • Angelo from Italy (7/10)

The room was wide and cozy, with a very comfortable bed. A/C was a bit loud but if you leave it on whilr you’re away and turn off when you are going to sleep, you will be fine all night

Didn’t have breakfast but the location was very good so I went to some place for it.
