Staypineapple, A Delightful Hotel, South End Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Staypineapple, A Delightful Hotel, South End, you immediately get why this four-star spot has such a devoted following. The building itself fits perfectly into Boston’s South End aesthetic — you know, that classic brownstone vibe that makes this neighborhood so Instagram-worthy. But honestly, it’s the little pineapple touches throughout the property that caught my attention first. I mean, who doesn’t love a hotel with a sense of humor about itself?
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about the South End — it’s actually one of Boston’s best-kept secrets for visitors who want to feel like locals. You’re on Chandler Street, which puts you right in the heart of Victorian Boston with those gorgeous tree-lined streets and red brick everywhere. The couples who stay here absolutely rave about the location, and I get it. You can walk to Back Bay in about ten minutes, hit the trendy restaurants on Washington Street without calling an Uber, and there’s this authentic neighborhood feel that you just don’t get when you’re staying downtown near all the tourist traps.
The Room Experience
The rooms strike this nice balance between boutique charm and actual comfort — something a lot of smaller hotels struggle with, honestly. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to make relatively compact spaces feel thoughtful rather than cramped. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel marketing speak), and there’s this playful pineapple theme woven throughout that somehow works without being cheesy. You’ll find little touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need, like proper lighting for reading and outlets where you’d actually want to plug things in.
Dining & Amenities
The hotel’s approach to food is refreshingly straightforward — they focus on doing a few things really well rather than trying to be everything to everyone. There’s a cozy lobby area where you can grab coffee or a light bite, and the staff actually knows the neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good local spots. I found myself spending time in the common areas more than I usually do at hotels, partly because they’ve created these spaces that feel more like a friend’s well-designed living room than a corporate lobby.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets Staypineapple apart is how it manages to feel both polished and unpretentious at the same time. The 8.3 rating makes sense when you experience the genuine warmth of the staff and realize you’re staying in one of Boston’s most walkable neighborhoods. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself taking a different route back each day just to explore another beautiful street, and couples especially seem to love having this romantic neighborhood as their home base. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or over-the-top amenities — you’re paying for a really solid, charming experience in a location that locals actually want to live in.
Hotel in Boston reservations spike before Marathon Monday when runners pack Back Bay brownstones.

Very friendly and helpful staff, both at the reception and in the bar. Small (colourful decorated) room, but we managed well with our 5 suitcases 😂 Clean and good supply of towels. Everyone staying should support and buy ‘a Dash’ before they leave 😉.
