Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Harbor on Tudor Wharf Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Harbor on Tudor Wharf, you immediately get that “this is different” feeling. I mean, it’s not your typical downtown hotel — this three-star property sits right on the waterfront in Charlestown, and honestly, the harbor views hit you before you even step inside. The building itself has this industrial-meets-modern vibe that actually works really well with the historic wharf setting.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying in Boston — you can be just across the harbor from downtown but feel like you’re in a completely different world. The Charlestown Navy Yard is literally your backyard here, which means you’re walking distance to the USS Constitution (yeah, Old Ironsides) and some pretty solid walking paths along the water. The Freedom Trail runs right through this area too, so you’re not exactly roughing it in terms of sightseeing. Plus, there’s parking on-site, which — let’s be real — is kind of a miracle in Boston.
The Accommodations
What sets this place apart is that you’re getting an apartment-style setup rather than just a standard hotel room. Each unit comes with a full kitchen, which honestly saves you a ton of money when you’re staying for more than a night or two. The beds are genuinely comfortable — I’m talking about the kind where you actually sleep through the night instead of tossing around on some rock-hard mattress. The living areas have enough space to spread out, and most units have those harbor views I mentioned earlier.
Breakfast & Amenities
The breakfast setup here is pretty straightforward — they do a buffet that covers the basics without getting too fancy about it. You know what though? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want. Coffee’s decent, they’ve got hot options, and you can grab something quick if you’re heading out early to explore. The property also has a fitness center and what I’d call a “business center,” though honestly, most people just use the lobby WiFi on their laptops.
Why Guests Love It
Couples seem to really dig this spot — and I get it. There’s something romantic about being right on the water, especially when you can walk to dinner in the North End and then come back to your own little harbor retreat. The whole setup feels more like you’re living in Boston temporarily rather than just passing through. You’ve got the space to actually unpack, cook a meal if you want, and the location gives you that perfect balance of being close to everything but not in the thick of the tourist chaos. For the price point, you’re getting a lot more space and those water views that would cost you significantly more downtown.

Location was PRIME! Overlooking Boston harbor in the evening and waking up to it was amazing. Staff was super helpful with all questions and the Valet parking, knowing out car was safe and away from the public in the city was definitely reassuring. We would stay again in a heartbeat~
