Marriott Vacation Club® at Custom House, Boston Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Marriott Vacation Club® at Custom House, Boston honestly feels like stepping into a piece of history — and I mean that in the best way possible. This three-star property sits right in the heart of the Financial District, and you can’t miss that classic Boston architecture mixed with modern touches. The building itself has this solid, established feel that makes you think it’s been watching over the city for decades.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what really struck me about this place? The location is absolutely unbeatable for exploring Boston. I’m talking about being steps away from Faneuil Hall, the waterfront, and honestly, you can walk to most of the major attractions without breaking a sweat. The Financial District might sound all business-y, but it’s actually perfect for couples — which explains why so many pairs end up loving this spot. During the day you’ve got that bustling city energy, but evenings get surprisingly quiet and romantic when the office workers head home.
The Room Experience
The room setup here is what really sets this place apart from your typical hotel stay. These are vacation club accommodations, so you’re getting way more space than you’d expect — think apartment-style living with a proper kitchen area that actually works. I mean, you can cook a real meal if you want to, though with Boston’s food scene right outside your door, you might not bother. The rooms feel lived-in rather than sterile, which I actually prefer when I’m staying somewhere for more than just a night or two.
Amenities & Comfort
What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to pack in solid amenities without going overboard. There’s a fitness center that’s actually usable (not just a treadmill shoved in a closet), and the spa services are a nice touch when you need to unwind after walking all over the city. The restaurant on-site serves decent food, though honestly, with the North End just a short walk away, you’d be crazy not to explore the neighborhood dining scene. Parking is available too, which — trust me — is a bigger deal in Boston than you might think.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing that keeps people coming back: this place strikes that sweet spot between being comfortable and being perfectly positioned for a Boston adventure. The staff actually knows the area and can point you toward the good stuff, not just the tourist traps. Plus, that 9 out of 10 rating isn’t just for show — guests genuinely seem to leave happy, especially couples who want to feel like they’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers exactly what you need for a memorable Boston stay.

Great location, beautiful view of city from the top floor and amazing staff! Staff was very personable and proactive with our needs. The front desk saw us walk in with two young kids and called our room to see if we needed a pack and play. When it came, it was already set-up and ready for us to use. Housekeeping staff was amazing too!

Located right next to Faneuil Hall, we had easy access to the MBTA system and a ton of places to eat. Boston's North End is a stones-throw away as well. Our 1-bedroom room was spacious. The pull-out bed was very comfortable as well. The room had a small refrigerator with a legitimate freezer as well as a kitchen sink. The staff was incredibly friendly and always acknowledged us as we passed through the lobby. The hotel had an incredible observation deck to view the entire city. We spent time sitting there and just enjoying the view. The laundry room had 2-3 washers and 2-3 dryers, all of which were free to use. They also had other amenities like a theater for movie nights, pool table, chess board, and playstation that we did not use. The hotel also hosted activities like whisky tasting and provided cookies and popcorn on specific afternoons. They had a common dining area where guests could get free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate throughout the day. I would definitely come back.
