You know how some Boston hotels can feel like glorified closets? This isn’t that. The beds are comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are updated enough that you’re not dealing with ancient plumbing. What really struck me was how they’ve managed to incorporate some maritime touches without going overboard with the nautical theme — it feels authentic to the location rather than forced.

Look, this is a three-star hotel, so don’t expect a spa or multiple restaurants, but what they do offer works well. The front desk staff actually knows the neighborhood — they can point you toward that little coffee shop around the corner or tell you which direction to head for the best harbor views. There’s WiFi that actually works (always a relief), and they’ve got that 24-hour front desk thing down pat. The fitness center is basic but functional, which honestly is all most people need when they’re spending their days walking around Boston anyway.

  Location was fantastic. The front desk staff was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable.

  Room was large for city hotels. Desk clerks were very helpful. Great location.
  Restaurant attached to the hotel was abysmal. Pasta was chewy and had no flavor. Crostini, well I don’t know what to say. One had a bland flavorless cheese on it, one red peppers with two spots of balsamic on it, the last one we weren’t sure what it was but it tasted terrible. My husband is a big eater and he didn’t finish the pasta it was so bad and I left 2 1/2 of the crostini. When I told the waitress how bad it was, she offered 20% off, which is what we would have gotten for staying at the hotel. Wouldn’t recommend it. We went to the corner market for snacks because we were too tired to go anywhere else.

  Nice hotel in a perfect location. Staff took great care of us, our luggage, and finding us a nice upper floor room as requested. Very quiet area, spacious room, comfortable bed, large shower, and good internet service were all positives for our stay.
