First Impressions

Walking into citizenM Boston North Station, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical corporate hotel. The lobby feels more like a tech startup’s lounge — all sleek lines, bold colors, and communal seating that actually looks inviting. I mean, there are people genuinely hanging out here with laptops and coffee, not just rushing through to catch elevators. The whole vibe is refreshingly unpretentious for a four-star property, honestly.

Location & Neighborhood

The location on Causeway Street is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of things in Boston. You’re literally steps from TD Garden — I could hear the crowd during a Celtics game from my room — and North Station makes getting around ridiculously easy. The West End neighborhood has this great mix of sports bars, decent restaurants, and actual locals going about their business. You know what’s nice? You can walk to the North End for Italian food in about ten minutes, or hit up Faneuil Hall without breaking a sweat.

The Room Experience

The rooms are compact but cleverly designed — think European efficiency meets modern tech. Everything’s controlled through a tablet mounted by the bed, which sounds gimmicky but actually works well once you figure it out. The shower is fantastic (seriously, great water pressure), and the bed is surprisingly comfortable for something that looks so minimalist. Storage is limited though, so don’t pack like you’re staying for a month. The floor-to-ceiling windows give you decent city views, depending on which side you’re on.

Breakfast & Dining

The buffet breakfast is solid without being spectacular — fresh pastries, decent coffee, and the usual suspects like eggs and bacon. What I appreciated was the quality of the ingredients; the bread actually tastes like bread, not cardboard. The restaurant area doubles as a social space throughout the day, and their grab-and-go options are handy if you’re rushing to catch a train. The coffee is legitimately good, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with Boston weather.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It’s modern, efficient, and perfectly positioned for exploring Boston without the stuffiness of traditional downtown hotels. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy working here — they’re helpful without being overly formal. Parking is available but pricey, though honestly, you won’t need a car with North Station right there. Couples especially seem to love the location (and I get why — it’s romantic enough for dinner in the North End but practical enough for actually getting around). If you want sleek design, a prime location, and don’t need a massive spa or formal concierge service, citizenM delivers exactly what it promises.

  A big surprise when I walked into the room and found a card "Welcome a Physics Teacher, We are proud to host a genius like you". I am in awe:) I am here for work for an experiment on international space station and they noticed. I am only stay here for a night before moving to a conference hotel not far from here. I am delighted that the hotel pay attention to their guests. Definitely love it!

  It was amazing, great location, super great value, luxury, perfect for couples, the room was very comfortable, tech, and functional. The bed is big and comfortable, you can watch Netflix and YouTube mirrored from your phone. The view was fantastic and the hallways were very quiet. My husband is very tall and he was very comfortable taking a shower and sleeping. The staff was very friendly and we could leave our bags before and after check in. There is a food hall steps away from the lobby, right next to the hotel with a bunch of different types of foods and a subway station.
