What really surprised me was how quiet it gets in the evenings, despite being so central. Couples seem to absolutely love it here (they rate the location 8.5 out of 10), and I can see why — there’s something romantic about strolling these tree-lined streets after dinner.

The Studio Space

The room itself is exactly what you’d expect from a converted brownstone — cozy, with those beautiful high ceilings and original details that make you feel like you’re living like a local Bostonian. The studio layout works well for couples or solo travelers who don’t need tons of space but want character. You’ll find a compact kitchen area that’s perfect for making coffee in the morning or storing leftovers from all the amazing restaurants nearby. The windows let in great natural light during the day, which really makes the space feel bigger than it actually is.

Getting Around

Here’s what I really appreciate about staying here — you can walk to so many of Boston’s highlights without dealing with the hassle of driving or parking (which, let’s be honest, is a nightmare in this city). The Common is maybe a 10-minute walk, Newbury Street shopping is close by, and you’ve got the theater district within easy reach. The T stops are right there when you need them, but honestly, I found myself walking everywhere because the neighborhood is just so pleasant to explore.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed — it’s a three-star property, so set your expectations accordingly. But what it lacks in amenities, it makes up for in location and authentic Boston character. The 6.6 rating might seem modest, but I think that’s partly because some people expect hotel-style services from what’s essentially a charming studio apartment. If you’re the type of traveler who values being in the heart of things over having a concierge, this place delivers. You’re paying for that prime South End address and the chance to live like a local in one of Boston’s most desirable neighborhoods — and honestly, that’s worth quite a bit in this city.

  Charlie's Sandwich Shoppe serves an excellent breakfast in a nice place! The neighbourhood was very nice and there was a grocery store nearby. There was even a wine delivery service available 🙂
